ABOUT US
Sweet Om Atlanta explores the very real complexities of life through a fictional narrative that follows several South Asian characters living in the city of Atlanta, Georgia.

Sweet Om Atlanta was created in 2019 by Dr. Reshmi Hebbar, who produces the podcast with the help of Oglethorpe University undergraduate students.
With characters ranging from teenagers and college students, to traditionally minded first-generation immigrant elders, Sweet Om Atlanta shares diverse perspectives about the experience of living in Atlanta as a person of South Asian descent.
These characters navigate cultural differences, personal struggles, and
discover the things that divide them but also the things that unite their communities along the way.
In addition to telling the Sweet Om Atlanta story, the podcast also has a series of mini episodes called “Featurettes” that are written and recorded by Oglethorpe students. These Featurettes allow students to share their own perspectives on themes and topics discussed in Sweet Om Atlanta episodes.
